Mabel Boese

Mabel M. Boese, 87, of Ripon, died Wednesday September 17, 1997, at Ripon Medical Center.

She was born April 1, 1910, in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Bert and Amelia (Bluemke) Rice. Mabel attended school in Fond du Lac. On September 25, 1939 she married Ervin 0. Boese. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1979. She was a housewife and a resident of Ripon since her marriage in 1939, She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Patrica (David) Gittens of Ripon, Mary (Sherwood) Zink of Madison; one son Alan (Mary) Boese of Midlothian, VA.; two sisters, Dorothy Schmidt of Fond du Lac, and Evelyn Weddig of Bloomington, IL; two brothers, Daniel (Melanie) Rice and Howard (Jane) Rice of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, Christopher Gittens of Rye, New York, Jennifer Gittens of Ripon, Matthew Boese of Ecuador, Andrew Boese of Arizona, Stephen Boese of Venzuela, Elizabeth Boese at home, Kendra and Kenton Zink of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers Harry Rice and Bert Rice Jr.; and one sister Ethel Mapes.

Funeral services for Mabel will be Saturday, September 20, 1997 at 10:00
A.M. at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with the Rev. Eric
Burnard officiating. Friends may call on Friday September 19, 1997 from 5:00 to
7:00 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and on Saturday
September 20, 1997 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Our Saviour’s
United Church of Christ. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in
Ripon.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to her wonderful caregivers who helped her enjoy this past year at home.
