Mace Luther Miller, 85, formerly of Green Lake, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Barrett House in Ripon.
Mace was born on February 16, 1926, on Sunny Brook Farm, Fairwater, WI, the son of John W. and Beatrice (Hamley) Miller. He graduated from Ripon High School. In 1947 he married Evangeline Dollie Vollmer at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Mace was a farmer and owner of Millers Lakeshore Resort with his wife Dollie on Green Lake. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Green Lake Willis-Chapel American Legion Post #306, Green Lake, and Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Mace was a very special person. He was a progressive and inventive farmer, who loved farming with his father. Likewise, he was an extremely artistic and creative craftsman; working with stonework, stained-glass, woodworking, jewelry, carving and welding. Mace also loved sharing family history. Deeply loved by his family, Mace will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife Dollie of Ripon; one son, Jeffrey (Debbie) Miller of Sparta, WI, one daughter, Debbie Jean (Tom) Davis of Ripon; grandchildren, Wendy (Doug) Long, Robyn (Daniel) Volkmann, Chris Mace (Ashley) Davis, Ted Davis, Mark William Miller, Scott Jeffrey Miller; great-grandchildren, Jarrod, Julia and Amelia Long, Aya and Cyan Volkmann, and Mason Davis; one sister, Pat (Bob) Thorp of Sarasota, FL; and nieces and nephews. Mace was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John T. Miller.
Visitation for Mace Miller will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, from 10-11:00 am at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon.
Funeral services for Mace Miller will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with the Pastor Sandra Krynik officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon.
