Madeline Tucker

March 19, 1927 — April 7, 2013

Madeline N. Tucker, age 86, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at her home in Barrett House, Ripon, Wisconsin. The family sends their deepest gratitude to the Barrett House family, and Green Lake Hospice for their love and unwavering support.

Madeline was born on March 19, 1927, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of William Arthur and Anna Josephine (York) Nichols. She graduated from Wichita High North in 1945 and on September 19, 1945, Madeline married the love of her life, William Weaver Tucker in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Madeline was a devoted wife, beloved mother, and dear friend. She enjoyed 51 years of marriage and raised six children. Madeline had a strong spirit, love of life, unwavering faith in God, love and prayers of family and friends throughout her life and passing. She possessed a contagious smile and entertaining sense of humor, while she constantly cared and lovingly nurtured others. Madeline’s sweet and simple demeanor won the hearts and trust of many. She was also a loyal employee of AT&T. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, and laughter, will never be forgotten.

Survivors include six children, Sharron Ann Jeffers of Stockbridge, GA, William Richard (Kathy Meinke) Tucker of Madison, WI, Mary Terese (Jeff) Hunter of Pickett, WI, Hollice Elizabeth (Jim) Colson of McDonough, GA, Debra Kay (Ray) Hug of Iron Ridge, WI and Donald Edward (Twyla) Tucker of Athens, GA; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister, Adeline and nieces and nephews. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Raymond Alexander; son-in-law, Douglas Jeffers and brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 10 – 11:00 AM at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. A memorial service celebrating Madeline’s life will follow at 11:00 AM at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. A luncheon will be served after the memorial service for family and friends at C.J.’s Wayside, Ripon, WI. Please join us as we gather to remember and honor Madeline.
