Madonna “Donna” Arlene Oakes, age 86, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009, with her family by her side.
Donna was born on April 7, 1922, in the Township of Metomen, WI, the daughter of Emil and Leona (Hein) Zimdars. She graduated from Ripon High School and on November 22, 1942, Donna married Milton V. Oakes in the Township of Metomen. She was a homemaker and then later worked at Flowers by David. Donna was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and also the VFW.
Survivors include one daughter Donna (Russ) Morgan of Oconomowoc; three sons, Dennis (Bobbie) Oakes of Ripon, Mike (Jackie) Oakes of Ripon, and Chris (Debbie) Oakes of Marengo, IL; one daughter-in-law, Judy (Paul) Hochrein of Berlin; nine grandchildren, Shawn (Stacey), Josh, Andy, Amanda (Mark), Jeremy, Heidi, Tara, Kyle and David; two great-grandchildren, Brett and Brooke; one sister, Ardis Schmitt of Stevens Point; three sister-in-laws, Shirley (Rhinhold) Malzhan of Waupaca, Jeanette (Darrell) Brey of Oshkosh, Karen Oakes of Manitowoc ; and three special friends, Andra, Rachel, and Rebecca. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, son Jeff and husband Milton.
Visitation will be held for Madonna Oakes on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, from 4-7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Immanuel United Methodist Church from 10:00-11:00 am.
Funeral Service will be held for Madonna Oakes on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Reverend Paul W. Nulton will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established in her name.
