Margaret K. Johnson, age 81, of Ripon, died Saturday, February 21, 1998, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Margaret was born September 5, 1916, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, daughter of Martin and Anna (Crocli) Mollen. She graduated from Port Edwards High School and attended college at Stevens Point. On October 28, 1939, she married George W. Johnson. They lived in Milwaukee where Margaret was employed by Latish, before moving to Ripon in 1945. After raising three sons and helping George with their local business, Margaret served as Administrative Secretary at the Ripon College Admissions Office for 18 years. She was a member of Ripon Woman’s Club, Ripon Study Club, The Historical Society, Ripon College Retirees, and several bridge clubs, and Our lady of the Lake church.
Three sons, Cris and his wife Barb of Ripon, Craig of Dallas, Texas, and Dan of Laguna Beach; five grandchildren, Erik, Maren, Soren, Chris, and Reed; and one brother, Ray Mollen of Wisconsin Rapids, survive Margaret. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; sister, Marie; and brother, Leo. -
Funeral services will be Monday, February 23, 1998, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake, Green Lake with Rev. John R. Dowd officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, February 22, from 3 to 5 PM at The Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Visitation will also be held Monday February 23, at 10 AM until the time of mass at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
