Margaret “Peggy” Lynn Jones, age 73, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Eden Meadows Nursing Home in Oshkosh.
Peggy was born July 28, 1940, in Waukau, WI, the daughter of Leon and Ruth (Billings) Westover. She graduated from Omro High School and went on to further her education at Moraine Park Technical College majoring in Accounting and Business Management. When Peggy was young, she started the Waukau Flying Mane Horse Club which is still active. In 1966, she married Ovle “Gene” Jones at the homestead in Waukau. She was very involved in the Green Lake Humane Society and was a dedicated hospice volunteer. Peggy had many talents and worked in many different ventures. Along with her mother, Ruth, she owned and operated Puckyan Pottery in the 1980’s and was General Manager of the Green Lake Marina.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah (Michael) Willett of Stockbridge, WI; her son, Edwin (special friend, Kelli) Jones of Ripon, WI; two grandsons, Jacob and Benjamin Willett of Stockbridge, WI; two sisters, Genevieve Stellmacher of Ripon, WI and Ellen (David) DeMarco of Fond du Lac, WI. Peggy is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ruth Westover; husband, Gene Jones in 1995; infant brother, Leon Westover and brother, Edward Westover.
Visitation for Margaret Jones will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 3 – 5:00 pm at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 West Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Margaret Jones will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 5:00 pm at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Pastor Joshua Pegram will be officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorials may be given to Green Lake Area Animal Shelter, N6217 Busse Dr., P.O. Box 86, Green Lake, WI 54941.
