Margaret (Lennop) Krause, 82, passed away Tuesday evening, September 20, 2005, at Maplecrest in Ripon.
She was born December 28, 1922, in the Town of Poy Sippi, Waushara County, daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Rueckert) Lennop. She was baptized in the Poy Sippi Lutheran Church of Berlin. Margaret attended Green Lake Public Schools, and had employment in the Green Lake-Ripon areas until 1945. She was united in marriage to Arden (Butch) Krause on April 7, 1945, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Margaret joined her husband and became a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, and has been a member since then. The Krauses farmed in the Ripon area most of their 47 years of marriage. Margaret ran the Equity market lunch counter for several years besides being a full-time helper with her husband on the farm.
Margaret loved her home and her garden, and most of all helping her husband on the farm. Driving tractor was her favorite, and also baking and cooking. She was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, a greeter at church and a volunteer at Ripon Medical Center. She was also a member of Ripon Shmear League. Margaret had many health problems and was forced to leave the farm 2 years after Ardens death in 1991. The past 3 years she lived at Maplecrest in Ripon.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Robert) Krueger of Ripon; 2 grandsons, Scott (Rebecca) Krueger & Justin Krueger; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden; her parents; 1 brother, Victor; 1 sister, Viola; 3 brothers-in-law; and 2 sisters-in-law.
Funeral service for Margaret E. Krause will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Our Saviours United Church of Christ. The Rev. Mark R. West will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery, Town of Metomen. A memorial has been established.
