Margaret Louise Lay, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 1990, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
She was born July 1, 1898, in Ripon, a daughter of Henry J. and Lela (Manzer) Maxwell. Mrs. Lay attended Ripon High School and was a 1920 graduate of Ripon College. She lived in the Ripon area most of her life. She taught Romance Languages at Ripon College from 1935 until 1963. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Ripon and a member of the A. A.U.W.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Lay of Fond du Lac and Lucia Maxson of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and four grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call Monday, November 12, 1990, from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lay will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church with the Reverend Catherine Ann Carlson officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Town of Utica. A memorial has been established in her name for Ripon College.
