Margaret Priebe

Margaret Elizabeth Priebe (nee Wellner), 81, of Ripon, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at her home.

She was born August 1, 1919, in Wild Rose, a daughter to Henry and Mary (Williams) Wellner. She attended country school. On August 28, 1935, she married Martin H. Priebe at Redgranite. She had lived in the Town of Brooklyn most of her life and was a housewife and wedding cake maker. Margaret was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Dorothy (Harold) Weick of Lake City, MN, Audrey (Bruce) Kelma of Ripon and Gerri (Tom) Kono of Green Lake; grandchildren, Harold (Joanne) Weick, Lisa (Jeff) McKay, Mary Brady, Wendy Weick, Roger (Denise) Priebe, Terry Priebe, Kim Priebe, Marty Priebe, John Priebe, Jodi Collien, Jill Kelma, Greg (Alicia) Kelma, Cheryl (Steve) Wunder, Cory (Sherry) Kono, and Heather (Kurt) Schwochart; 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a son-in-law, Dennis Wegner; two brothers, Arthur (Mary) Wellner of West Bend and LeRoy (Terri) Wellner of Milwaukee; four sisters, Evelyn Wilke of Weyauwega, Arlene Schulta of Milwaukee, Thelma Anderson of Milwaukee and Alice Koepsel of Weyauwega; two brothers-in-law, Walter Priebe of AZ and Ed (Elaine) Priebe of Ripon; five sisters-in-law, Esther Sontag of VA, Edna Luedke of Oshkosh, Madelyn Priebe of Fond du Lac, Ruth (Richard) Weisshahn of Hortonville and Margaret Priebe of Sheboygan Falls and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Priebe in 1989; son, Roger; daughters, Diana Walsh and Gloria Wegner; three grandchildren, Jeff and Karla Kelma and Sarah Wegner.

Funeral service for Margaret Priebe will be 11 am on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon with Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche officiating. Burial will be in Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn. Visitation will be Friday from 6 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Saturday, 9 – 11:00 am at the church. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or Peace Lutheran School.
