Margaret L. Riggs, age 91, of Green Lake Manor in Green Lake, passed away Monday, August 16, 2004, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
She was born January 19, 1913, in Houghton, MI, the daughter of Martin and Henrietta Tinetti. She attended schools in Michigan and Milwaukee. In September 1967, she married Edward H. Riggs. Mrs. Riggs was a homemaker, and was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake, Dartford Education Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #306, both of Green Lake. Margaret had been an avid golfer, former member of Tuscumbia Golf Club, honorary member of the Green Lake Lions Club, and was an avid card player in many clubs.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Jacquelyn Riggs (Dan) Skahill of CA; 1 grandson, Christopher Skahill of CA; 2 sisters, Terese Giaudrone and Mary Bitters, both of South Milwaukee; nephews, Tom (Geri) Bitters of Greenfield, Gerald Bitters of South Milwaukee, Michael Tinetti of CO, and Ted McGrade of KS; nieces, Mary (Paul) Dolata of Ripon, and Kathy McGrade of CA; and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Joseph Polgar; 2nd husband, Edward H. Riggs in 2001; 1 brother, Tony; and 1 sister, Bella.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at the Federated Church of Green Lake with Rev. Karen Gygax-Rodriguez officiating. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to the Federated Church in her name.
