Margaret B. Stewart, 79, of 728 Newbury St. Ripon, died February 26, 1994 at Juliette Manor, Berlin.
Maggie was born March 28, 1914, in Superior, a daughter of Reinhold and Mary Berg. She was a graduate of U.W. Superior and for many years was a teacher in the Ripon School System. On October 13, 1945, Margaret married Edward Mathwig. He passed away November 9, 1970. On June 24, 1972, she was united in marriage to Charles Stewart. They made their life together until his death on November 4, 1987. Margaret was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Ripon Womens Club, Friends of the Library, National Educational Teachers Association, Wisconsin and Green Lake Retired Teachers Association, Veterans of Middle School, A.A.R.P., and was a volunteer at Ripon Medical Center.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Ellan Nitz of Ripon; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Berg of Superior and Joan Stewart of Memphis; nieces, nephews and special friends Janet and Bill Crook and Skelly and Kerwin Koehn all of Ripon. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services for Margaret will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 1994, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Debbie Rosa-Meyer will officiate. Interment will be in the Fairwater Cemetery, Fairwater. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. An Eastern Star service will conclude the visitation at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established in her name.
