Marguerite Helen Rose Marnie Prellwitz, age 92, of Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Maple Crest Manor in Ripon.
Marguerite was born on August 22, 1915, in Willow City, ND, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Yerkie) Prellwitz. She graduated from Barton, North Dakota, High School in 1933. In the fall of 1934 she moved with her family from North Dakota to Wisconsin. Marguerite worked in Chicago for two years as a live-in housekeeper, and on March 6, 1943 she married Lester Prellwitz in Ripon. She also worked at Ripon Foods as a cookie packer from 1957 to 1980, and in the Ripon Foods Outlet Store for several years after her retirement. Marguerite liked to bake and grow things in her garden that she could use to cook with. After her husbands passing, she was active at Maple Crest Manor the past 11 years where she enjoyed baking for the residents. She was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, and the Married Couples Club.
Survivors include her two sons, Lee Prellwitz of Ripon, and Dwain (Thora) Prellwitz of Malta, MT; one daughter-in-law, Kathy (Peter) Schieler of Ripon; three grandchildren, Marc Prellwitz of Ripon, Kelsey and Parker Prellwitz of Malta, MT; two brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Walker of Kingston, WI, Carl and Ann Yerk of Ripon, WI, Alice Prellwitz of Ripon, WI, and Gloria Prellwitz of Berlin, WI. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1995; her son Dale in 2003; five brothers, Louis, Clarence, Philip, Raymond, and Milton; one sister, Ella Walker; one brother-in-law, Wesley Walker; and three sisters-in-law, Leone, Dola and Marjorie.
Visitation for Marguerite Prellwitz will be held from 5 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again from 10-11:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2008, at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Marguerite Prellwitz will be held 11:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2008, at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon with The Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Nepeuskun Cemetery, Town of Nepeuskun. A memorial has been established in her name.
