Marguerite Schwandt

Marguerite V. Schwandt, 88, Carriage House, Ripon, died October 2, 1995, at Wild Rose Manor in Wild Rose where she very briefly resided.

She was born July 24, 1907, in Rosendale where she attended school. She attended Fond du Lac and Waushara County Normal Schools and then taught in Fond du Lac and Waushara Counties. Marguerite was a teacher, writer, painter and actress (feature role in “Exit Dying” - Oshkosh premiere in October of 1976.) She married Arthur T. Schwandt in August of 1929, and he has preceded her in death.

Survivors include 5 nephews, L. I. Pete (Verona) Morgan of Almond, Douglas (Flora) Stapel of Ripon, Richard I. Stapel of Alamogordo, NM, David L. (Karen) Morgan of Brookings, SD and Oscar M. (Marion) Giffey of Rosendale; 4 nieces, Jean M. (John) Doubek of Wild Rose, Arlis A. Moses of Cederburg, Mary Beth Sattergren of Oshkosh and Gladys C. Krueger of Ripon; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Morgan of Wautoma; and godchild, Timothy (Dawn) Morgan of Oakdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, Lynn and Lysond Morgan, and 1 sister, Bernice Stapel.

Funeral services for the late Marguerite V. Schwandt will be held at ii A.M. Thursday, October 5, 1995, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon where she was a member. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate and interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 8 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
