Maria Gneiser, age 78, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 1953, at Ripon Municipal Hospital.
Maria was born August 16, 1874, in the Town of Empire, WI, the daughter of Adam and Anna (Grebe) Scherer. On March 25, 1897, she married John Gneiser at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Gransee of Ripon and Mrs. A.J. Vetter of Calvary; two sons, Harry H. and Rudolph both of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Waldschmidt of Waupun and Mrs. Pauline Rady of Fond du Lac; four brothers, Otto and William Scherer both of Calvary, George of Fond du Lac and Paul of Juneau; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on September 26, 1914, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 10, 1953, after 6:00 pm at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Maria will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 1953, at 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon with The Reverend Carl Stubenvoll officiating. Interment will take place at Estabrook Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
