Maria A. Scott, age 84, of Ripon, passed away Thursday evening, August 3, 2006 at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon.
Maria was born on April 17, 1922 in Phillips, the daughter of Alois and Katharine Baier. Maria graduated from Baraboo High School and also attended Groves-Barnhart Secretary School. On April 28, 1962 she married Robert Scott at Durward Glen Chapel in Baraboo Wisconsin. Maria was secretary for badger ordnance for 4 years and Deputy Register of Deeds, in Sauk Co. for 19 years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic church in Ripon. Maria was St. Patrick church secretary for 25 years, and was also a member of the liturgy committee, altar society, and a volunteer for funeral dinners, rummage sales and a volunteer at St. Patrick School.
Survivors include her husband Robert W. Scott of Ripon, Cousin Helen Davis of Milwaukee, Cousins in Germany, 2 brothers-in-law and 1sister-in-law in Ohio, special friends Charles and Agnes Heck and their children. She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Visitation for Maria Scott will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and again on Monday August 7, 2006 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St. Ripon, from 10:30-11:00 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Scott will be held on Monday August 7, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery, Town of Ripon. A memorial has been established to St. Agnes Hospice, in Berlin Wisconsin.
