Marie M. Hagemann, age 86, resident of Russell Manor in Ripon for many years, died December 25, 1995 a Parkview Care Center, after a brief stay.
She was born February 6, 1909, a daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Gruen) Becker. She took commercial courses and was then employed for over 26 years as a private secretary at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee. While living in Milwaukee, Marie was a volunteer Red Cross night inspector during World War II, as well as doing civilian defense office work at the Milwaukee Courthouse. She was a member of the choir and very active in church affairs at Inmanuel United Church of Christ in Milwaukee.
After moving to Ripon, Marie married Otto F. Hagemann on June 9, 1951. Mr. Hagemann passed away on December 15, 1970. Marie had been employed at Ripon Federal Savings & Loan Association for 19-1/2 years, retiring in 1974 at age 65. She was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon where she taught Sunday School. Marie was a member of the Ripon A. A .R. P. Chapter, Pilgrim Rebekah Lodge and was an honorary member of the Ripon Business & Professional Women. Marie enjoyed working in her garden, reading and doing fancy work.
She is survived by 3 nieces, Jacqueline (Gerald) Bequest of Wauwatosa, and Viola Hagemann and Elsie Hall, both of Ripon; 2 nephews, Oscar (Marilyn) Hagemann and Leslie (June) Hagemann, both of Ripon; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services for the late Marie M. Hagemann will be Friday at 1 P.M. at the Chapel of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripen. The Rev. Eric Burnard will officiate and interment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. Visitation will be Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. A Memorial has been established for Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon.
