Marie Anne Kentopp, age 99, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Liberty House in Fond du Lac with her family by her side.
Marie was born on November 4, 1911, in Owosso, MI, the daughter of Anthony and Rose (Valis) Ptacek. On June 12, 1925, she married Edwin Kentopp at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Almond, WI. Marie worked at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in Oshkosh, and was an assembly worker at Speed Queen for twenty three years. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Ladies Guild, LWML and Quilter’s Group.
Survivors include two sons, Clair (Shirley) Kentopp of Oshkosh, WI and Herman (Karen) Kentopp of Jackson, WI; daughter-in-law, Joan Kentopp of Watertown, WI; eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She also has extended family living in the Owosso, MI area. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Reverend Arthur Kentopp.
Visitation for Marie Kentopp will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011, from 10 – 12:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Marie Kentopp will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 12:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Bryan Fritsch will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be given to Messiah Lutheran Church or St. Agnes Hospice Hope Foundation, 430 E. Division St. Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
