Marie Donnan Ryerson, age 83, of Ripon, died July 10, 2002 at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
She was born January 11, 1919, in Redgranite, a daughter to James and Mary (Clark) Donnan. She graduated from Redgranite High School in 1936. After graduation she worked at the Telephone Office in Redgranite, and in the summer was an assistant cook at the Boy Scout Camp at Twin Lakes, Waupaca. In 1940, she moved to Ripon where she was employed at The Grill restaurant. She then worked as a bookkeeper at Ripon Rolling Mills until 1946. She later worked at the Ripon Advertisers from 1959 to 1982. On April 11, 1945, she married Eugene Ryerson at Our Saviours United Church of Christ where she was a member. Marie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Ladies VFW Auxiliary, and was one of the founders of the Red Arrow Cream of Crop reunion group. Marie was active in volunteer work in the Fond du Lac Nutrition Program, Parkview Nursing Home, and the county nurse flu shot program. In 1990, she was chosen as An Outstanding Senior Citizen of Fond du Lac County.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Donna(Dick) Kern, Mary (David) Hanson and Ann (Peter) Pfeffer; 2 sons, Tom (Lynn) Ryerson and David (Valerie) Ryerson; and 8 grandchildren, Sara (Tobias) Cajamarca, Nicole and Timothy Ryerson, Joshua and Jamie Hanson, Kimberly and Kelsey Ryerson and Zachary Pfeffer. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; infant son; 4 brothers, William, James, Robert and Douglas Donnan; and sister, Jessie Kinzel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Margaret G. Richardson Zedan officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Garden of the Cross, Ripon.
