Marie Kafer Toll, 99, Ripon, WI, passed away on October 18, 2001, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
Marie was born in Eureka, WI on March 9, 1902, the daughter of George and Betty Weidner Kafer. After graduation from Omro High School in 1921, she taught for two years in Bluebell School, which was a one room rural school near Omro. She then went back to Teachers College in Oshkosh, and then taught in the Ripon Public School system for 34 years. On August 24, 1944, she married Edward A. Toll of Ripon. She was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ripon Science Club.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Douglas E. (Elisa) Toll and their son Johnis D. Toll of Bad Soden (near Frankfurt), Germany; and grandchildren, Erich (Susan) Toll and their children, Alexander and Bridgett; Tristina Marie (Lance) Kirsten and their children, Parker and Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward in 1990, one brother, George Kafter, two sisters, Anna Kafer and Laura Bohn.
Funeral service for Marie will be held on Monday, October 22, 2001, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend Rebacca a. Johnston officiating. Friends may call on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until the service. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be made out to the Toll Music Fund at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon.
