Mariel Jane Stelsel, 80, of Hartford, passed away Friday morning, February 11, 2005, at Hartford Care Center in Hartford, WI.
She was born April 30, 1924, in Milwaukee, daughter to Wilson J. and Essie Mae (Wallace) Hannan. Mariel received a degree in art from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and was a self-employed artist. On June 6, 1964, she married Robert Jones Stelsel. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Ripon and the Women of St. Peter’s. Mariel lived in Green Lake before moving to West Bend, and for the past 5 years lived in Hartford.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Ruth (David) Bostwick of West Bend; half brother, Charles Hannan of AZ; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, husband, step daughter, Linda, and stepmother, Conchera Hannan..
Mass of the Resurrection for Mariel Jane Stelsel will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Kenneth Guy officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. A memorial has been established.
