Marlys A. Whitney

Marlys Ann Whitney, age 84, of the Town of Ripon, WI, died Friday, October 25, 2024 at Lutheran Homes & Health Services in Fond du Lac with family by her side.

Marlys was born on January 18, 1940, in the Town of Ripon, the daughter of Walter and Myra (Whiting) Whitney. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1957. Marlys worked for the Ripon School District for 45 years. In the beginning of her career, she worked in the office at one of the district schools and later worked as Executive Secretary. Marlys enjoyed a quiet life on her farm, spending time reading and gardening.

Marlys is survived by her nieces and nephews, Patricia (Bob) Whitney, Michel (Jim) Hansen, Gary (Tia) Voskuil, Gloria (Jim) Warren, Gena (Michael) Poetzel and Jim (Marilyn) Whitney; sister-in-law, Donna Whitney; other relatives; and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Myra Whitney; her sister and brother-in-law, Ora Jean and Merle Voskuil; and her brother, Merlin Whitney.

Visitation for Marlys will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Marlys will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, with Rev. Dr. Heather Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale, WI. A memorial is being established in her name.
