Martha Louisa Hoialmen, 87, died Friday, December 3, 1999, at her home in Ripon.
She was born December 6, 1911, in Coloma, the daughter of Gustave and Minnie (Lindtke) Graichen, and graduated from Coloma High School. She married Larry Sheggrud in 1934, and he preceded her in death. She later married James Holalmen on January 2, 1981. She has resided in Ripon for over 25 years, and was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church of Oshkosh.
Survivors include her husband, James of Ripon; 1 daughter, Barbara (Bob) Ericson of Sheboygan; 2 sons, Keith (Betty) Sheggrud of Charlotte, NC and Darryl (Judy) Sheggrud of Brookfield; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Fred (Esther) Graichen of Markesan and Richard (Joyce) Graichen of Leesburg, FL; special friend, Millie Siewert of Ripon ; and great-aunt, Letty Ross of Oconomowoc. She was preceded in death by her first husband, infant daughter, 2 brothers, Carl and Walter, and parents.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 6, 1999, at 2 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Reverend Lynn Scovil of Oshkosh officiating. Friends may call Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Coloma. Memorials will be given to Berlin Hospice Hope in her name.
During her courageous battle with cancer, Martha’s positive and peaceful attitude influenced all who came to visit her.
Martha enjoyed traveling, being with and working with people, her garden, especially roses, and entertaining.
