Martha Kunst, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away on December 17, 1987, at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.
Martha was born February 5, 1896, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Gehrke) Retzlaff. He was educated in Pickett. On November 18, 1925, Martha married Gottlieb Kunst until his passing on April 21, 1960. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Martha was also a member of Rosendale Center Homemakers, American Legion Auxiliary, the Women’s Guild and Harmonica Rascals.
Survivors include her two daughters, Caroline (Orlin) Zahn of Brownsville and Hellen (Arlo) Schultz of Tomah; one brother, Wilbert Retzlaff of Crandon; three sisters, Elsie (Gordon) Peschke of Ripon, Erna (Gilbert) Van Kirk of Ripon and Alma (Emil) Stark of Ripon; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, three sisters and six brothers.
Visitation for Martha will be held on Friday, December 18, 1987, from 4 – 9:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Martha will be held on Saturday, December 19, 1987, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend James Mohr officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica.
