Martin Jacob Worthen, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 1985, at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.
Martin was born on July 12, 1900, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Jacob and Anna (Martin) Worthen. He graduated from Oshkosh High School, then Scout Institute in Menomonie, WI and became a vocational instructor in sheet metal. Martin married Aleda Cowling on June 15, 1921. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ripon, a past member of Board of Deans, a member of Oshkosh Lodge #27 F.&AM and Oshkosh Chapter OES.
Survivors include his wife, Aleda; three daughters, Betty Ann Manser of Ripon, WI, Joan Worthen of Hawaii and Kathryn Ambrose of Denver; one son, Jack of Appleton, WI; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Martin will be held on Sunday, December 22, 1985, from 3 – 6:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Martin will be held on Monday, December 23, 1985 at 1:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Martling officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. A memorial is established.
