Marvin J. Oskola, 84, of Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Marvin was born in Ripon on April 12, 1925, and raised by Adam and Mary Oskola. He graduated from Ripon High School, and worked as a farmer and carpenter for 44 years. In 1949 he married Lois Wepner in Ripon, and was a member of Hillside Assembly of God in Ripon.
Survivors include his wife Lois of Ripon; three sons, Michael (Marilyn) Oskola of Brandon, Dennis (Karen) Oskola of Ripon, and James Oskola of Neenah; one daughter, Mary (Jeff) Ritchart of Horicon; four granddaughters, Sandy (Bruce) Zabel of Markesan, Amy (friend Steve Schultz) Oskola of Fond du Lac, Michelle (Josh) Diehl of Milwaukee, and Elizabeth Ritchart of Horicon; one grandson, Jeff Ritchart of Horicon; five great-grandchildren, Curtis and Cory Zabel, and Cameron, Jessica and Kaden Diehl; nieces and nephews; and one brother, Edward A. Plank Jr. of Inver Groves Heights, MN. Marvin was preceded in death by his grandparents; two brothers, Joseph and Louis; and his mother and step-father, Mary and Edward Plank Sr.
Visitation for Marvin J. Oskola will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon , and again on Thursday, May 21, 2009, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Hillside Assembly of God Church in Ripon.
Funeral service for Marvin J. Oskola will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillside Assembly of God Church in Ripon, with the Reverend Donald Deike officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery, Town of Metomen. A memorial has been established in his name.
