Marvin E. Wesner, age 58, of W2354 Hwy 23, Green Lake, died Thursday morning, January 2, 2003, at Berlin Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 5, 1944, in Ripon, a son to Emil and Freda (Ewing) Wesner. He attended Ripon High School, and was a former member of the F.F.A. Alumni. On February 14, 1975, he married Audrey Ziehm. Marv was a man of many trades, was a self-employed truck driver, and had lived in the Ripon/Green Lake Area all of his life. He was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake and the church choir. Marv donated time these past 2 years in the Ripon Shop-with-a-Cop Program playing Santa Claus. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey (Ziehm) Wesner of Green Lake; 4 daughters, Amy (Steve) Borgardt of Pickett, Kim (Matthew) Feyen of Shakopee, MN, Lyn (Chris) Meilahn of Green Lake and Wendy Wesner of Green Lake; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie & Noah Borgardt; his self adopted son, Jim Sasada; his dog and faithful companion, Hans; 3 sisters, Cheryl (Greg) Coburn of Ripon, Pat (Ed) Badtke of Ripon and Alice (Al) Towne of Portage; and aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and other beloved family members.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church of Green Lake with Pastor Karen Gygax-Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
