Mary Therese Duffy, age 82, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.
Mary was born May 5, 1932, the daughter of Elizabeth (Bradley) Smith in Chicago, IL. She earned her degree at DePaul University and received her Master Degree of Education at Mundelein University. In 1958, Mary was united in marriage to Robert Duffy in Chicago, IL. She worked as a teacher and principal for Catholic schools in and around the Chicagoland area. Mary continued to educate children for years after retirement by establishing and running an Academic Pre-School in McHenry, IL.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Robert Emmet Duffy, Green Lake, WI; sons: Sean Debs (Lidia) Duffy, Chicago, IL, and Mark Thomas (Angela) Duffy, Green Bay, WI; two grandchildren: Ian Duffy, Green Bay, WI, and Ivy Duffy, Chicago, IL; a sister, Roberta; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: William Smith, Buddy Smith, and Robert Smith; and one sister: Charlotte.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 12 – 3:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. A memorial is being established in her name.
