Mary Michel

Mary Loretta Michel, age 94, lived in Oshkosh, WI, for one and a half years at Park View Health Center, was formerly of Ripon, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011, with her family by her side at Park View Health Center.

Mary was born on May 21, 1917, in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of George and Katherine (Kennedy) Sarner. She graduated from Logan High School in La Crosse. She was married to Rolland Rank who preceded her in death in 1980 and of that union was born Rolland, Sherry and Karen. On June 4, 1947, Mary married Carl Michel in La Crosse, WI. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon.

Survivors include six children, Rolland (Judy) Rank of Dekalb, IL, Sherry Hare of Green Lake, WI, Karen (Bob) Dahlgren of Green Lake, WI, James (Julie) Michel of Simi Valley, CA, Mary Celani of Madison, WI and Thomas (Kris) Michel of Sheboygan, WI; twenty two grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Haas of La Crosse, WI and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-daughter, Patricia Michel James; grandson, Cory Dolata; granddaughter, Julie Hinze and three brothers, Ron, Jack and Bill.

Visitation for Mary Michel will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St. Ripon, WI 54971

Memorial Mass for Mary Michel will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.
