Mary Hope (Young) Ninneman, age 86, of Ripon, passed away Wednesday morning, July 20, 2005, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
She was born June 24, 1919, in the Town of Green Lake, a daughter to James K. and Ella (Wilkes) Young. Mary attended Green Lake Co. Normal School and received a teaching degree from UW-Oshkosh. Mary had been an elementary teacher for 42 years and retired from the Markesan School District. On November 20, 1941, she married Leslie A. Ninneman. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon and the Women’s Guild, former volunteer at Ripon Medical Center, member of Fairwater Historical Society, W.E.A. (Wisconsin Education Association), and GLAREA (Green Lake Area Retired Education Association).
Survived by husband, Leslie of Ripon; daughter, Sally (Jerome) Gehrke of Oshkosh; son, Lee (Vicki) Ninneman of Appleton; granddaughter, Kelly Markofski of Oshkosh; great-granddaughters, Morganne and Nicole Markofski; sister, Margaret Kuharske of Wisconsin Rapids; brother, Robert (Joan) Young of Green Bay; and special niece, Mary Nennig; other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother, James K. Young.
Funeral service for Mary Hope Ninneman will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with the Rev. Mark R. West officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon.
