Mavis E. Dodge, age 80, of Markesan, Town of Green Lake, died
unexpectedly Friday morning, January 18, 2002, at the Ripon Medical Center.
She was born April 4, 1921, on the southside of Chicago, IL, a daughter to Earl and Grace (Smith) Erickson. She graduated from high school in Chicago. On February 24, 1940, she married Raymond A. Dodge and they lived in Niles, MI, prior to moving to Green Lake in 1976. Mrs. Dodge was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake. Survivors include her four daughters, Nancy (Jack) Blake of Cape San Blas, FL, and their children Jake (Robyn) Blake, Don (Misha) Blake, Kate Blake, Maggie (Nate) Kudick and Pat Blake; Barbara Picardo of Markesan; Linda (Bill) Goldner of Disney, OK, and their children Jenny (Brad)Daftari, Caleb (Tonya) Goldner, Sarah Goldner and Rachael Goldner; Susan
(Andy) Cassady of Markesan and their children Jarred (Tara) Cassady, Meghan Cassady and Alison Cassady (fiance Justin Ellis); and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Don, and sister Grace Erickson Dodge.
Funeral service for Mavis E. Dodge will be Monday, January 21, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Federated Church of Green Lake with Rev. Karen Gygax-Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be in the Markesan Memorial Cemetery, Markesan. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
