Maynard Meierhofer

Maynard Conrad Meierhofer, age 86, Ripon, WI passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Ripon Medical Center.

Maynard was born on July 16th, 1923 in Watkins, MN, son of Irene and Joe Meierhofer.
Maynard served as a Meteorologist in the Army/Airforce during World War II. He later worked with the family business, TemTee, making and selling milk and icecream in Maple Lake, MN. In 1951 he married Virginia Zenner from Belgrade, MN. They were blessed with ten children. In 1973 he and his family moved to Ripon and he worked as a salesman for Bell and Howell Schools. For twenty years, Maynard managed the Health Habit in downtown Ripon. He enjoyed taking his family out on the pontoon boat, fishing and swimming. He also enjoyed singing and playing cards. Maynard was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

Maynard is survived by his wife, Virginia, nine children: Robin (Becky) of Ham Lake, MN, Pepin (Kelly) of Las Vegas, NV, Laurie Kasuboski (Peter) of Ripon, WI, Jon, of Ripon, WI, Cheri Burton (Brad) of Wausau, WI, Matt (Joan), of Bemidji, MN, Tod (Laura) of Ripon, WI, Julie Deters (Ron) of Duluth, MN and Kip (Michele) of Grafton, WI, 13 grandchildren: Tony, Kristen, Kari, Emily, Kathryn, Jacob, Melissa, Haley, Samuel, Sylvie, Paige, Jordan, Cole, and one great grand child, Melou. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Cindy) Meierhofer of Belgrade, MN, and one sister, JoAnn Round of Monticello, MN. Maynard was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbie, sister, Mercedes and brothers, William and Merlin and his parents.

Visitation for Maynard C. Meierhofer will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, from 9-11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon.

A Mass of Celebration will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, with the Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established.
