Meilahn Standke

June 13, 1941 — November 4, 2007

Meilahn Arthur Standke, age 66, of Ripon, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Juliette Manor in Berlin after a 3 ½ year long battle with cancer.

Meilahn was born on June 13, 1941, in Ripon, the son of Arthur and Eleanore (Meilahn) Standke. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1959. The following year, Meilahn married Sharon Schaetzka in Ripon. He worked as a Machinist at Mercury Marine for 41 years, and later worked as a Truck Driver. Meilahn loved all sporting events, and would attend as many as he could. He also loved his 1951 Mercury car, which was his “trademark”. He was an avid member of the Ripon Car Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Standke, of Ripon, 3 sons; Scot W. (Kelly) of Oshkosh, Rick T., and Kriss K. Standke, both of Ripon. 5 grandchildren; Ryan, Aaron, Jordan, Michael, and Matthew Standke also survive. Meilahn was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brothers, his father-in-law, and his mother-in-law, Ruth Schaetzka on September 22, 2007.

Visitation for Meilahn A. Standke will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Meilahn A. Standke will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Mark West officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A Memorial has been established.
