Melinda “Mindy” S. Wilkes, age 54, of Milwaukee, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004, at St. Josephs Hospital in Milwaukee.
Mindy is the beloved daughter of Lawrence & Marian (Reddell) Wurtz; cherished sister of Mark (Cheryl) Wurtz, Cyndi (Peter) West, Ludwig (Jane) Wurtz, Lance (Janice) Wurtz, and Lockwood (Judy) Wurtz; dear aunt of Tara, Rhett, Meghan, Trenton, Jessica, Calyssa, Cora, Taylor, Tiffani, Lincoln, Preston, Lindsay, Tyler, Whitney, Remington, Anastascia, Aristotle, Dylan, and Francesca. She is further survived by great niece, Harper and great nephews, Jordan and Kaden; and special friends, Dick and Es Huiting, Bob Thode, and John Peterman.
Mindy graduated valedictorian from Mayville High School, and summa cum laude in Special Education from the University of Oshkosh. She then taught Special Education in Oshkosh and Green Bay. Mindy’s passion for teaching was matched by her compassion for those she taught and worked with. This same dedication and care was reflected in her most recent position as Director of Client Services at the Milwaukee Career College.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 16 S. Walnut St., Mayville, WI with Pastor Geoffrey Hoy officiating. A memorial has been established.
