Melvin E. Liefke, age 75, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, January 05, 2009, at Markesan Resident Home in Markesan, WI.
Melvin was born on May 28, 1933, in Ripon, WI, the son of Elmer and Mildred (Baumann) Liefke. Melvin graduated from Ripon High School and was a field operator for Green Giant Canning Company. He married Donna Ludjeck-Steineke on May 26, 2006 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Melvin was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Prairie View Lodge #0095 of Ripon, Beta Temple of Green Bay, and Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Green Bay, Winnebago Shrine Club, and Oshkosh Shriners of North America.
Survivors include his wife Donna; children Sherry (Dave) Lukoski of Ripon, WI, Linda (Jim) Uecker of Omro, WI, Gary (Linda) Liefke of Ripon, WI, and Elizabeth Liefke of Ripon, WI; six grandchildren Katie, Ben, Kayla, Mark, Mathew, and Kole; one sister Carol Hervey of Ripon, WI; two step daughters Diane (Jay) Rasmussen of Ripon, WI, and Dawn (Harold) Brown of Ripon, WI; step grandchildren Dahlia, Jared, Kurtis, Leigh and also a niece and great nephew. Preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother.
Visitation for Melvin Liefke will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral service for Melvin Liefke will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. Memorials may be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
