Melvin Ristau

Melvin F. Ristau, age 87, of Ripon, died Thursday morning, January 11, 2001, at Parkview Care Center after a brief stay.

He was born September 8, 1913, in Ripon, a son to Frederick and Dora E. (Reepsdorf) Ristau. He was educated in Ripon, and was a farm laborer most of his life. Melvin married Mary Walters in Oshkosh, and she passed away in 1962.

Survivors include 1 brother, Earl Ristau of Surprise, AZ; 1 sister, Johanna (Gordon) Gehrke of Ripon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Marcella O’Neill; 2 brothers, Miles and Wayland Ristau; and 1 niece, Theresa.

Funeral service for Melvin F. Ristau will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2001, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. The Rev. Jonathan Stansfield will officiate, and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Visitation will be Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
