Michael Corey Mikey Whitey Teela, age 26, of the Town of Ripon, died February 19, 2004, at his home. Mike passed away peacefully early Thursday morning in his sleep after a long and courageous 14-year battle with T-Cell Lymphoma.
He was born May 29, 1977, in Ripon, a son to Craig and Debbie (Henslin) Teela. Mike graduated from Ripon High School, and received an Associate Degree from Moraine Park Technical College and was a computer programmer. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Ripon.
Survivors include his parents; Deb & Craig Teela; brothers, Jason (Nena) of Appleton and Brett (Erica) of Verona; nieces & nephew, Alyssa, Trevor & Kaya; maternal grandparents, Len & Doris Henslin; paternal grandmother, Ellen Teela; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friends, Gizmo, Zack, Mesa & Otis. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Teela and cousin, Katie Ehrenberg.
Mike will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched. He will be best remembered for his big heart and giving nature. Mike loved his family, friends, and animals. He had a great love of music, comedy, movies, computers and children. He had a great love of sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee
Brewers. When Mike was able, he enjoyed long walks looking at the stars. He will also be remembered as a cute boy with white hair and long eyelashes. Mike greatly appreciated all his friendships and kept in touch with many of them all through his life.
Mikes family would like to thank his extended family, his friends and all who have touched his life. They would also like to thank Dr. Hei of Madison, the Beaver Dam Hospital Staff, Meriter Hospital Staff, UW-Hospital Staff, Childrens Hospital of Milwaukee, and Hospice.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2004, at Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
