Michele McCartney, 32, of Bethany, MO, formerly of Ripon, WI, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, as a result of a traffic accident in Coffey, MO.
She was born September 16, 1965, in Ripon, WI, a daughter to Keith and Eileen (Agnew) Stapel. She was a graduate of Ripon High School. Michele had lived in Houston, TX for 10 years prior to moving to Bethany this past February. She was an apartment manager.
She is survived by her mother, Eileen Burke of Ripon, WI and father, Keith Stapel of Lamoni, IA; half-brother, Ryan Burke of Ripon; and half-sisters, Autumn (Bob) Leeper of Kellerton, IA and little niece, Addison and Amanda Stapel of Houston, TX; and step-father, Gordon Burke of Oshkosh, WI. She is further survived by aunts and uncles: Ginny Hansen of Fond du Lac, WI, Donna (Lynn) Heatley of Pittsfield, NY, Lawrence (Jill) Agnew of Moreno Valley, CA; Tom (Beatrice) Duerr of Berlin, WI, Dick (Kay) Duerr of Berlin, WI, Clark (Mary Ann) Duerr of Milwaukee, WI, Charles (Rae Ann) Duerr of Minneapolis, MN, Betty (Frank) Schreiner of Minneapolis, MN, Joyce Smith of Dalton, WI, Judy Cannady of Beaver Dam, WI, and Mickey Juzccyk of Ash Flat, AK, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Shannon Burke in 1995, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, March 7, 1998, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon, WI, with Father John A. Schmitz officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the mass at the church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon, WI.
