Mildred “Millie” Brus, age 82, of 387 Palmer Ave. Green Lake, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.
She was born in Chicago on April 5, 1922, the daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Heigl) Deichstetter. Mildred attended Lucy Flower High School in Chicago. On November 20, 1943 she married Richard Brus in Kenosha, WI and they have resided in Green Lake since 1984. She was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake, the Women’s Fellowship, and a past member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: her husband Richard Brus of Green Lake; daughter, Susan Gross of Phoenix, AZ; son, James (June) Brus of Hartland, WI; one grandson, Evan Brus of Hartland, WI; one sister Helen (John) Cooney; one brother, Alfred (Phyllis) Deichstetter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lee Porter; her parents, and one sister, Frances Scholpp.
A memorial service will be held at the Federated Church in Green Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2005, with Pastor Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Friends may call at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions in her name may be forwarded to the Federated Church in Green Lake, 489 Scott St, Green Lake, WI 54941. (920-294-3440)
