Mildred Norton

Mildred Marie “Mickie” Norton, age 83, Green Lake, passed away on Friday, August 11th, at the home of her niece Mary Jo (Bob) Fans in Fond du Lac after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 25, 1912 in Mackford Prairie, Green Lake County, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Procknow. She attended Green Lake High School. On February 14, 1939 she married Clifford Norton. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1966. Mickie and her husband Clifford owned Norton’s Dock & Boat Landing and co—owned Norton’s Marine Dining Room with Cliff’s brother Harry. Mickie was also employed 42 years at the United States Post Office in Green Lake beginning at the age of 16. She was an active member of the Green Lake Business and Professional Woman’s Club, Friends of the Caestecker Library, the Green Lake Historical Society, the Tuesday Tuscumbia Ladies Golf League, several bowling leagues, several chapters of Duck’s Unlimited, arid the Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake.

In addition to her husband Cliff, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother Cy. Other survivors include close niece and nephew Mary Jo (Bob) Fans; and Doug (Debbie) Norton of Green Lake; sister—in—law Maybelle Procknow of Randolph; a sister—in—law Florence (Rene) Amadry of Green Lake; nieces Jeanne (Mark) Lavalle of Fond du Lac and Betty (Leonard) Rechek of Fox Lake; and a nephew Mike (Joanne) Norton of Princeton. She is also survived by many more relatives, nephews and nieces, and grandnephews and grandnieces. She is also survived by many many dear friends.

Funeral Services for the late Mildred Marie “Mickie” Norton will he at 11 A.M. Monday, August 14, 1995 at Peace Lutheran Church, Green Lake. The Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche will officiate and interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Hospital Hospice Hope, Fond du Lac - Green Lake.
