Milton D. Cook, age 71, of Fairwater, WI, died Sunday, December 15, 1996, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
He was born May 18, 1925, in International Falls, MN, a son to Clarence and Lillian Cook. He graduated from school in International Falls, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 1946. Milt had been a truck driver, lumber jack, Superintendent of Streets & Water for the City of Zion, IL, retiring to run his Smoke Shoppe & Deli in Zion. When he sold his business, he moved to Fairwater. He had been a member of the American Legion Post #0208 in Arlington Heights, IL, Anchor & Ark Lodge #1027 in Waukegan, IL and the Fairwater Lions Club.
He is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Berzin of San Francisco, CA, Helen Petie (Brad) Cody of Hillsboro, KS and Gretchen Unruh of Marion, KS; grandchildren, Jennifer, Carolyn, Dinine, Joshua, Bonnie, Tricia, Don and J.R.; one great-grandchild, Sara; three sisters, Frances, Dorothy and Louise; and domestic spouse, Ruth D. Schultz. He was preceded in death by three wives, Virginia, Harriet and Mary Alice, one daughter, Mary Katherine and one brother, Harold.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 1996, from 6 until 7 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, where at 7 pm the Cook family will share reflections of his life. Cremation will take place. Memorials will be given to the American Cancer Association in his name.
