Milton Arnold Werdin, age 86, of Ripon, died Saturday, July 11, 1998 at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
He was born July 5, 1912, in Ripon, the son of Edward and Olga (Jahnke)
Werdin. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1931. He married Clarabelle
Soules on July 2, 1938. She passed away on July 3, 1983.
Mr. Werdin was a veteran of World War II. He drove a laundry truck for Ripon
Laundry for 17 years. He was former Constable under Ripon Police Chief Ira
Dunham. He was a member of the American Legion, and a member of Our
Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. He was a past President of the
Eagles, serving 1945-1946. He founded Milts Liquor Store in 1947 and retired
January 1, 1993.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Edna Werdin, Montello, Eve Hem, Ripon, and
Mabel Caswell, Redgranite; brother-in-law, Donald Wagner (Eileen), Fond du
Lac; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his
parents, wife Clarabelle, 3 brothers LeRoy, Kermit and Lawrence, and twin sister
Mildred.
Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 1998, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Funeral services will be Tuesday at1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend James D. Mohr officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials may be given in his name to the Ripon Medical Center or Our Saviours United Church of Christ.
