Minnie K. Wilkes, age 94, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 1993, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
She was born on February 2, 1898, in Carleton, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Florence (Stallard) Keso. She married Alvin Wilkes on September 5, 1923; they were later divorced. She graduated from Ripon High School and later was bookkeeper for Rush Lake Produce Company. Mrs. Wilkes had resided in Ripon all of her life and was a member of Our Saviors United Church of Christ in Ripon.
She is survived by one son, Fred (Jeanette) Wilkes of Ripon; two grandchildren, Jean (John) Ridgway and Tom Wilkes, both of California; one sister, Frieda Keso, Major USAF Nurse Corp (Ret) of Ripon; one nephew Harry W. (Ferne) Keso of Oshkosh; and 2 grand-nieces, Jennifer and Lynn Keso of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bernice; and three brothers, Edward, Harry, Byron.
Funeral services for Minnie Wilkes will be held Monday, January 25, 1993, at 2:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. The family will receive friends Monday from noon until the time of services at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in her name for Parkview Care Center.
