Miriam E. Treleven, 82, of Ripon, died June 26, 1994, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh, WI.
She was born on May 6, 1912, in Rockford, OH, the daughter of the late James & Grace (Montgomery) Smalley-Bruett. She was educated in Jackson, MI, and on September 2, 1932, she married John Treleven. They made their home in Fond du Lac before moving to Ripon in 1965. Summers were spent at their cottage on the south shore of Green Lake. Miriam was a former member of the Eastern Star, and the D.A.R., and worked in the Admissions Office at Ripon College. She also helped her husband at the Montgomery Ward Store in downtown Ripon.
In addition to her husband for 62 years, John, she is survived by one son, William (Tammy) Treleven of Sun Prairie, one daughter, Kathro (Robert) Taylor of Ripon; one grandson, Scott Taylor; two step-grand children, Chris & Nicole Nilsen; one half-sister, Mary Jane (Frank) Rossi of East Point, MI; one aunt, Florence Kummerow of Ripon, and one sister-in-law, Nettie Fairchild of Green Lake.
Visitation for Miriam Treleven will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral services for Miriam Treleven will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, in Ripon. The Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow will officiate, the interment will follow in Rienzi Cemetery, Fond du Lac. A memorial has been established.
