Moninne Mo Ann Sheila McConnell, 80 years young, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at her home in Green Lake, WI.
Mo was born in Milwaukee, WI to Dr. Victor and Anna (Blommer) Taugher. She married Charles E. McConnell in 1953, in Elm Grove, WI. They were happily married for 26 years when Charlie died too young in 1979. Mo was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the Green Lake Seniors and The Club.
Mo loved to travel and went on many trips with her family and dearest friend, Sydney. Her biggest pleasure was spending long afternoons boating on beautiful Green Lake. Mo had many jobs throughout her life, but none more important than raising her seven children. She worked with her husband, Charlie at McConnells Texaco Gas Station and at their Marinas in Green Lake. Mo waitressed for many years at Van Rhyns Supper Club, was a Bookkeeper for Ripon Data Services and worked as a teller at Horicon Bank in Ripon where she retired in 2009.
She is survived by and will always be cherished by her children, Danny (Sue), Dennis (Marti), Doug (LuAnn), Pat (Lynn), Nancy Puff, Peggy (Bob) Mrohen and Brian (Carol) McConnell; nineteen grandchildren and their spouses; twenty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Bob (Evey), Dick (Donna) and Brian (Betty) Taugher; sisters-in-law, Joan and Jean Taugher and many nieces and nephews and their families and her dearest sister-friend, Sydney Rouse. Mo was preceded by her parents, Dr. Victor and Anna Taugher and her dear step-mother, Therese (Monka) Taugher; her beloved husband, Charles E. McConnell; sister, Patricia (Jerry) Hekkers; brothers, Terrence (Janet), Victor, Donald and two infant siblings; son-in-law, Gary Puff, all of her McConnell brothers and sisters-in-law, a great-grandson and nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mo will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 1 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mo will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Interment will follow at Bluffton Cemetery in the Town of Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Agnesian Hospice Hope Foundation, 430 E. The family would like to thank Father Philip Krogman, who was a good friend and spiritual advisor to Mo for years and to the church groups that visited Mo weekly. Mos final scenic trip would not have been as peaceful without all of her loving and caring caregivers
