Myron Gross, age 75, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Ripon Medical Center with his family by his side.
Myron was born October 7, 1938, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the son of Nicholas and Thelma (Westover) Gross. He graduated from Wild Rose High School and in July of 1960, Myron married Ruth M. Hanson at Saxeville Baptist Church. He worked in the Wild Rose box factory and then served our country in the United States Air Force for four years. Myron was employed by Speed Queen in Ripon, retiring after 38 years of service. His biggest hobbies were hunting, fishing and sports, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks. Myron and Ruth spent two decades fishing Lake Michigan from their Algoma Fish Camp. Myron was a very active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon serving as usher, Church Council President and organizing the welcoming of refugees.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ruth Gross of Ripon, WI; two sons, Timothy Gross of Ripon, WI and Shawn (Meg) Gross of Oshkosh, WI and three grandchildren, Adam Gross of West Salem, WI, Gina Gross of Milwaukee, WI and Nathan Gross of Appleton, WI. Myron was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Myron will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014, from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 10 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Myron will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Charles R. Thompson will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Pine River Cemetery in Pine River at a later date. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
