Myrtle Burt, age 69, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 1956, at Ripon Municipal Hospital.
Myrtle was born December 21, 1886, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of John W. and Lucy (Shipley) Challoner. She graduated from Wisconsin State College in Oshkosh. In 1907, Myrtle married Frank Karnes who died in 1941 and to William Burt in 1948 who died in 1955. She worked as a teacher, social worker and a house mother at Ripon College. Myrtle was a member of the First Congregational Church in Ripon.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Martin Peterman of Wauwatosa, Mrs. Gordon Meyer of Stevens Point and Mrs. Richard Morse of Ripon and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands.
Friends may call on Friday, April 13, 1956, after 3:00 pm at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Myrtle will be held on Saturday, April 14, 1956, at 3:00 pm at Butzin Funeral Home with The Reverend Victor M. Rhein officiating.
