Myrtle Tettenborn

December 21, 1919 — March 17, 2014

Myrtle E. Tettenborn, age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Michalene’s in Ripon.

She was born December 21, 1919, the daughter of August and Ella (Smith) Malzhan. Myrtle was a graduate of Green Lake High School, and in 1938 she was united in marriage to Eugene Tettenborn in Markesan. She worked as a cookie packer at the Ripon Cookie Factory; and was a member of The Federated Church of Green Lake, and Homemakers of Green Lake. Through Homemakers, Myrtle would work at the Green Lake County Fair where she enjoyed spending time in the dairy barns and selling ice cream and popcorn to all the fair goers.

She is survived by three daughters: Darlene (Eugene) Janes, Green Lake, WI; Shirley (Tom) Wollert, Apache Junction, AZ; and Marilyn (Dave) Sonntag, Phillips, WI; sister, Eleanore Malzhan, Markesan, WI; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, August and Ella Malzhan; her husband, Eugene Tettenborn; and daughter, Caroline Tettenborn.

Visitation for Myrtle E. Tettenborn will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Service for Myrtle E. Tettenborn will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez will officiate. Interment will be held at Dartford Cemetery in the City of Green Lake. A memorial is being established.
