Nellie G. Laper, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away on February 16, 1988, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Nellie was born on November 5, 1896, in Tupelo, MI, the daughter of William and Flora (Thomas) Abercrombie. She graduated from Ripon High School, and lived in Ripon for most of her life. In 1917, she married Jesse W. Laper. Nellie was a member and past matron of Order of Eastern Star of Markesan, past President of the 6th District General Federation of Women’s Clubs, and past chairman of Fond du Lac County Children’s Board.
Nellie is survived by a son, Florian of Ripon; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse; a daughter; a sister; and a great-granddaughter.
A visitation for Nellie will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 1988, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 1988, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Reverend Carl L. Stubenvoll officiating. Interment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Nellie’s name.
