Nicholas Berg

Nicholas J. Berg, age 69, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 1985, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

Nicholas was born October 9, 1915, in Advance, WI, the son of Nicholas and Clara (Gossel) Berg. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Nicholas was educated at Green Bay West High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the class of 1940. On October 14, 1941, he married Genevieve Murphy. Nicholas worked as a partner of Berg Brothers Electric Company. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, the V.F.W and American Legion in Ripon.

Survivors include his wife, Genevieve; one son, Nicholas Jr. of Bloomingdale, IL; one daughter, Mary Berg of Glen Ellyn, IL; two grandchildren and two brothers, Henry of Panama City, FL and Raymond of Green Bay. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Visitation for Nicholas will be held on Sunday, September 29, 1985, from 5 – 7:00 pm with a VFW Service at 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral Service for Nicholas will be held on Monday, September 30, 1985, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ with Reverend James Mohr officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established for the American Heart Fund.
