Nina E. Draeger, age 88, formerly of Russell Manor and Michalenes in Ripon, died Thursday morning, February 14, 2002, at Juliette Manor in Berlin, where she had lived since December of last year.
She was born January 14, 1914, in Wautoma, the daughter of Albert and Lena (Janke) Zinke. Nina graduated from Wautoma High School and Stevens Point Normal College, and then taught country school by Dakota, WI. She later was secretary at Pickard Commons at Ripon College for many years. On May 2, 1936, she married Elmer Henry Draeger. Mrs. Draeger was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, the United Methodist Women and Christian Service Class. She also was Homemaker of the Year of the 6-Mile Corners Homemakers Club of Green Lake County.
Survivors include her children, Nancy K. Finn of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mark (Chari) Draeger of Ripon; grandchildren, Joseph (Angela) Draeger and Kymberly Draeger; three sisters, Ella Poullette of Austin, Texas, Erma Daye of Markesan and Vira Foemmel of Sheboygan; a brother, John Zinke of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
Funeral service for Nina E. Draeger will be Sunday, February 17, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be Monday at 9 a.m. at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
